MoodBlobs
Your Data, Explained

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: May 11, 2026

We take privacy seriously — especially because MoodBlobs is designed to be kid-friendly and many of our community members are families. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell personal data. Period.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Email address, when you sign up for updates or claim the free sticker book.
  • First name or nickname, if you provide one.
  • Mailing address, only if you make a purchase or request a physical sticker book ship.
  • Your selected mood/favorite character, if you complete the signup mood picker.

Information collected automatically

  • Vote events (which character you liked, passed, or wanted notifications about) — stored anonymously by default.
  • Device info (browser type, screen size, language) for analytics and bug fixing.
  • Approximate location (country / region) inferred from IP address.

We do not collect: birthdate, Social Security numbers, phone numbers (unless you give us one for support), or any precise geolocation.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To run the voting platform and show you which characters are trending.
  • To send the emails you signed up for (drop launches, voting closes, sticker book shipment).
  • To fulfill any free sticker book or product order.
  • To improve the site — fix bugs, understand which sections are popular, prevent fraud.
  • To honor your legal rights (deletion, access, opt-out).

3. Children's Privacy (Under 13)

MoodBlobs follows the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If you believe your child under 13 has given us information, contact us at privacy@moodblobs.comand we'll delete it promptly.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary: keep the site working (e.g., remembering your vote state during a session).
  • Analytics: understand traffic patterns — aggregated and anonymous (no individual tracking).
  • Preferences: remember UI choices like which category (Plushy or Squishy) you last viewed.

You can clear cookies anytime through your browser settings. Some features (like remembering your vote choices) won't work without them.

5. Who We Share Information With

We share data with a small set of trusted service providers, only as needed to operate the site:

  • Hosting & infrastructure: Vercel (site hosting), Neon (database).
  • Email delivery: a transactional email provider for sticker book confirmations and product launch alerts.
  • Fulfillment: a shipping partner, only when you have requested a physical product or sticker book.
  • Analytics: a privacy-respecting analytics provider (no third-party ad tracking).

We do not sell personal data. We do not share data with advertisers.

Social platforms (TikTok & Instagram).Brand Rebel Media operates the official MoodBlobs accounts and publishes our own content to them through each platform's official developer tools: the TikTok Login Kit and Content Posting API, and the Instagram API. These integrations handle only ourbrand accounts — the access tokens for our accounts and the videos, images, and captions we choose to publish. They do not collect, access, or store personal data about you, your TikTok or Instagram account, or your activity on those platforms. Anything you do on TikTok or Instagram (viewing, liking, commenting, following) is governed by those platforms' own privacy policies, not this one.

6. Your Rights

You can, at any time:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we have about you.
  • Delete: ask us to delete your account and associated data.
  • Correct: ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
  • Opt out: unsubscribe from emails (every email has a one-click link).

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@moodblobs.com from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA) and EU/UK residents (GDPR) have additional specific rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as we need it:

  • Email & profile info: until you ask us to delete it, or for up to 3 years after your last activity (whichever is sooner).
  • Voting data: kept anonymized for trend analysis and product planning.
  • Order info (if you purchase): kept for up to 7 years for tax / legal purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS site-wide, encrypted database connections), access controls, and regular reviews. No system is perfect — if a breach affects your data, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

9. Legal Basis (GDPR — for EU/UK users)

We rely on the following lawful bases when processing your personal data:

  • Consent — when you sign up for emails, accept cookies beyond strictly-necessary, or submit any optional information. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contractual necessity — to fulfill a sticker book request or product purchase you initiated.
  • Legitimate interest — to operate, secure, and improve the site, including fraud/bot detection on votes, with appropriate balancing against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to retain transaction records for tax and accounting purposes.

10. International Data Transfers

MoodBlobs is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., the personal data we collect will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or in any other country where our sub-processors operate. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent UK transfer mechanisms to safeguard cross-border transfers. A copy of the transfer mechanism is available on request to privacy@moodblobs.com.

11. California-Specific Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have these specific rights:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to deletepersonal information we've collected from you (with certain exceptions).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@moodblobs.com. We will verify your identity using the email associated with your account.

Shine the Light (California Civil Code § 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

12. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request for "sale" and "sharing" of personal information under applicable U.S. state laws, where required. We do not currently respond to generic browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals because there is no common industry standard for them.

13. Sub-Processors

We use the following sub-processors to operate the service. We update this list when we add or remove a vendor.

  • Vercel Inc. (USA) — website hosting and edge functions.
  • Neon, Inc. (USA) — managed Postgres database.
  • Google LLC (USA) — Google Forms for the parent-completed sticker book intake.
  • Email service provider — for transactional email and mailing-list delivery (currently configured per environment; current provider available on request to privacy@moodblobs.com).

14. Verifiable Parental Consent (COPPA)

Because some MoodBlobs visitors are under 13, when an under-13 child is identified we require a parent or legal guardian to complete signup on their behalf. Our verifiable parental consent method is: (a) the parent enters their own email and confirms age 18+; (b) the parent receives a confirmation email and must click a verification link before any non-essential processing begins; (c) we retain the consent record alongside the child's mood/team information. Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's information at any time by emailing privacy@moodblobs.com.

15. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy materially, we'll change the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, email registered users in advance.

16. Contact Our Privacy Team

Email privacy@moodblobs.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days for general questions, faster for urgent matters (data breach, account deletion request).
